Vuejs Search w/ VueFuse

Using Vue and vuefuse to create an event-based search system is a great way to simplify the process of creating a simple and intuitive search function for your app. By doing it this way, you will be able to make use of the Vue’s fine-grained reactivity system to mutate your data.

The key is to understand the concept of the Vue’s event lifecycle. Components go through a series of events that trigger updates. During this time, a component’s DOM nodes are in an in-memory state. The updates are then synchronized to the real nodes on the page.

A new Vue component will be created that will implement a search feature. This component will contain a filter object and a variable, which are two key elements to the search function. The component will also have an allLinks field which holds links to render.

This allLinks field is part of the AppHeader. The function allLinks_search_query will take in a searchText argument and execute a query when the searchText changes. The function will also have a skip option that will ensure the query will not run if no searchText is provided.

The Vue CLI uses webpack to build your application. The Vue CLI has a bundler config setting that allows you to alias your bundler to ‘vue’. The alias will ensure your project always uses the same build version of Vue.

When using the Vue CLI, it is important to make sure your bundler is set up with the proper alias. You will need to add a JavaScript file to the HTML head> section of your DOM.
